Churchfitters’ romp of a ‘Christmas Cracker’
December 10 @ 19:30 - 22:00£5 - £12
Churchfitters’ romp of a ‘Christmas Cracker’ on Sunday 10 December at 7.30pm in the Coronation Hall.
What is it about? I hear you ask…. try this!
The Churchfitters is a folk band like no other. A bass guitar made out of a frying pan. Heart-wrenching vocals accompanied by a musical saw. Foot-stompingly fast fiddle mixed with infectious funk-rock bouzouki. And traditional tunes reinvigorated with mesmerising jazz sax.
The three virtuoso musicians from England and France strut their stuff on a stage that bristles with instruments – adding flute, banjo, dulcimer, tin whistle, guitar, ukulele, stand up dustbin bass and a sackful of percussion to their ensemble. And let’s not forget the unique ‘bing-bong’ machine made out of hacksaw blades.
Throw in some exquisite harmonies, a slew of startlingly original songs interlaced with traditional and new festive songs, Christmas carols and terrible jokes, this cracker of a show will see Christmas in with a bang!
Tickets £12, £5 under 16s available in person from Kingsland Post Office, on-line at www.arts.alive.co.uk or T: 01568 709579
