Friends of St. Michael & All Angels, Kingsland (SMAAAK) is a non-religious charity raising funds for the restoration of Kingsland Parish Church, a Grade I listed building dating from the 12th century.
Danuta & Jim, who have been very active in ensuring the success of SMAAAK over the past 4 years, moved from Kingsland at Christmas 2017. The trustees of SMAAAK are David Thompson, Peter King and Gail Scott, and Carol Sawyers, together with Chris & Rhian Fear have newly joined the fundraising team.

Sunday 18th February – Jack and the Beans Talk
2.30 pm in the Methodist Church – a puppet theatre production by Garlic Theatre, aimed at audience age 3-7 years.

Saturday 5th May – Windborne
Vocal harmonies from Windborne, four singers from America present Song on the Times, presenting different forms of folk singing with a powerful difference. The group, who have been singing together for a while, was catapulted to fame when a clip of them singing protest songs outside Trump Tower in New York went viral. They educate as they entertain, telling stories about the music and explaining the various elements of the traditions in which they sing.
Coronation Hall, tickets will cost £12 Adult and £5 Child.
Saturday 14th July – Pop Up Opera
For the 4th year, SMAAAK presents Pop Up Opera, an innovative touring opera company which aims to broaden the appeal of opera and to challenge the way opera is performed. They aim to reach those who are hesitant about opera, as well as dedicated opera lovers. This has become a very successful and entertaining event on the calendar for Kingsland.

Sunday 9th September to Saturday 16th September – H.Art
Herefordshire’s premier at and sculpture event held across the entire county. Kingsland Church is the largest of all available venues, and each year is packed with art and sculpture presented by the artists themselves. All the items on show will be available for purchase, or just visit and be amazed at the talent, skill and breadth of work being produced by local artists.
Saturday 7th October – Arcadia Music Festival
A mesmerising evening of classical music, presented by a hugely talented ensemble, the Arcadia Music Festival has become one of the most highly acclaimed festivals in Herefordshire. Details of this year’s programme will be available soon.
