August 20th saw the return of Angelfest to the Millennium Green, this time organised chiefly by Sarah and her team from the Angel Inn.
We were blessed with a fine dry day and from 3pm – 10pm had a steady stream of Kingslanders and visitors of all ages who were entertained by The Will Hicks Band, The Desert Roses, PLUG, Time of the Mouth, The Frankie Wesson Duo and Frontrunner all of whom performed for free in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. And we must not forget the fabulous appearance of the Chinese Dragon, or Lion as it is know in China, who danced for the crowd in the afternoon.
Entry to the event was free but with a bucket collection at the gate, this raised a grand total of £2,230.00 for Macmillan.
Our own side show stalls raised £368.00 and we are grateful to all who took part and helped or ‘had a go!’
It was absolutely lovely to see so many people out and about enjoying a drink or something to eat or just getting together after such uncertain times. We know that very many people worked very hard before and on the day to make the event the success that it was!
Thank you all!
